Impact Recovery Systems®
Impact Recovery Systems® parking lot products are flexible, high impact, mini-message delineation devices designed for applications where space or portability is a concern. The heart of the sytem is a unique reactive spring with the strength to support not only a flexible post, but an information panel as well. This reactive unit gives upon impact and is designed to rebound and to reorient the sign panel towards traffic.
The totally reboundable line of IRS parking lot products is designed to fit the user's needs. Legends are applied to either one or both sides of the post and are fabricated from damage-resistant, highly reflective sheeting. These changeable legends can be standard or custom made and are attached to the various styles of markers. Ideal parking lot uses include yield to pedestrian in crosswalk, stop, directional indicators - the applications are endless.
Portable or fixed bases are available. Portable quick-release bases are made of recycled tire rubber and are designed for areas where space or time constraints exist. Fixed (quick release or non-quick release) bases are designed for concrete median barriers or road surface applications using bolts or epoxy. All three IRS® bases were successfully tested with a variety of IRS® products, at speeds of up to 60 mph, for durability and sign resiliency. These units were found to withstand, dependent on the speed at which they were hit, anywhere from 15 (at 45 mph) to 100 (at 30 mph) impacts. Durability varies. Installation materials and replacement parts are available. All IRS® units are NCHRP 350 approved.
